Japanese students eagerly anticipated the dynamic sound of Taiko drums from Japan—and the performance did not disappoint! Leading up to the event, students explored the historical significance of Taiko during the samurai era, learning how the powerful rhythms were deeply connected to Japan’s cultural and military traditions. The Columbia University Taiko Aikokai group performed live in the PCTI auditorium, delivering an electrifying and immersive experience. To top it off, students had the exciting opportunity to try their hand at playing the drums themselves, making the event both educational and unforgettable!

On March 14th, PCTI HOSA held a Jeans Day fundraiser, with half of the proceeds being donated to the Kidney Cancer Association and the American Cancer Society. This cause holds special meaning for our chapter, as one of our AOHS and PCTI HOSA Chapter officers is currently courageously fighting kidney cancer. In her honor, our school community rallied together and raised over $2,000 for this important cause. We are incredibly thankful and blessed by the outpouring of support from teachers, AOHS students, and staff, many of whom donated above the requested amount to ensure the fundraiser’s success. Thank you to everyone who contributed — your kindness and generosity made a true difference!
