PCTI Academy of Information Technology – Amber Dong
Amber Dong is a high-achieving student in PCTI’s Academy of Information Technology, where she has steadily nurtured her early curiosity for tech. Her interest began in middle school, and discovering that PCTI offered cybersecurity only strengthened her desire to dive deeper. “I was really interested in technology back in middle school. When I saw that PCTI offered cybersecurity through this track, I wanted to explore that interest even further,” she shared. That curiosity has grown into a disciplined pursuit, reflected in her impressive 4.2 GPA.
Being named November Student of the Month came as an unexpected but meaningful moment for Amber. “I was honestly really surprised. I’m grateful for all the effort and support I’ve received from my teachers, counselors, and classmates throughout high school,” she said.
Amber is actively involved in several academic and technical organizations, including CyberPatriot, the World Language Honor Society, SkillsUSA, and NASA HUNCH. Outside the classroom, she loves to read, study new languages, and create original artwork, pieces she often sells or gifts to friends. Her mix of technical and creative interests gives her a well-rounded approach to learning and problem-solving.
After graduation, Amber plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in financial engineering or data analysis, fields that align perfectly with her analytical mindset and interest in innovation.
When offering advice to younger students, Amber encourages openness and exploration: “Don’t be afraid to try something new. You might discover something you’re genuinely passionate about.”
Reflecting on her journey, she credits PCTI’s supportive environment with helping her stretch outside her comfort zone. “PCTI’s supportive community has taught me to challenge myself, even in areas where I’m not confident and to stay open to new possibilities,” she said.

PCTI School of Automotive Technology – Nicholas Freideman
Nicholas Freideman is a standout student in PCTI’s School of Automotive Technology, where he’s built a strong foundation in the field he hopes to turn into a lifelong career. With a 3.6 GPA, Nicholas balances academics with hands-on learning, crediting the program for giving him the knowledge and confidence to pursue his future goals.
Being named Student of the Month was a meaningful moment for him. “Honestly, I was surprised. I feel honored, and it really makes me feel like all my hard work has paid off,” Nicholas shared.
Outside the classroom, Nicholas stays active and well-rounded. He enjoys working out, spending time with friends, fishing, and snowboarding. He also volunteers at his church, a commitment that speaks to his character and leadership.
After high school, Nicholas plans to study business in college with the long-term goal of opening his own auto shop. His mix of technical experience and a clear vision for the future keeps him motivated and focused on what’s ahead.
Reflecting on his experience, Nicholas says PCTI has played a big role in shaping who he is today. “PCTI has shaped me a lot. The automotive program has taught me everything I need to know to eventually run my own auto shop,” he said.

PCTI STEM – Sofia Myka Pangan
Sofia Myka Pangan is an exceptional student in the PCTI STEM Academy, where she pursues Biomedical Science and Life Sciences. Her love for the medical field started early, shaped by the influence of her parents, both nurses. “I chose this because I’ve always had a passion for the medical field, and I’ve been inspired by my parents,” she shared. That passion has fueled her through one of PCTI’s most demanding academic pathways.
Being named November Student of the Month was a meaningful and unexpected moment for Sofia. “It feels really good. I honestly didn’t expect to earn this title, so it was a great surprise,” she said. Her strong performance is reflected in her impressive 4.1 GPA.
Sofia is deeply involved in PCTI’s academic and extracurricular community. She is a member of the Girls Varsity Golf Team and participates in the STEM National Honor Society, STEM World Language Honor Society, Rho Kappa, and STEM HOSA. Her commitment to both academics and athletics speaks to her discipline and drive.
Outside of school, Sofia values balance and peace. She enjoys reading, practicing her golf game, listening to music, and taking time for herself, moments that help her recharge and stay focused.
Looking ahead, Sofia has already committed to Bryant University, where she will compete in Division I varsity golf. She plans to pursue a career in healthcare informatics.
When offering advice Sofia encourages her classmates and incoming freshmen to keep moving forward: “Always push yourself and work hard. Even when things feel difficult or you don’t feel like you’re progressing, you are. So, keep going.”
Reflecting on her journey, Sofia credits PCTI STEM with helping her grow in meaningful ways. “STEM has helped me shape my career goals, make new connections, and learn more about who I am and who I want to become,” she said.
