Huge congratulations to PCTI Video Production students Ryle Navarro and Brianna Anderson for being selected as finalists in the Montclair Film Emerging Screenwriting Competition!
Ryle took 1st place in the Romance genre for his script "Fumiyuu"
Brianna earned 3rd place in the Comedy genre for "Fast Money"

Criminal Justice juniors participated in a practical autopsy lab led by a crime scene investigator from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of NYC, Adriell Mercado. Japanese students eagerly anticipated the dynamic sound of Taiko drums from Japan—and the performance did not disappoint!
Leading up to the event, students explored the historical significance of Taiko during the samurai era, learning how the powerful rhythms were deeply connected to Japan’s cultural and military traditions.
The Columbia University Taiko Aikokai group performed live in the PCTI auditorium, delivering an electrifying and immersive experience.
To top it off, students had the exciting opportunity to try their hand at playing the drums themselves, making the event both educational and unforgettable!

The PCTVS Future Educators Association hosted a joyful Week of the Young Child Celebration on Thursday, May 1st in the PCTI Auditorium!
Over 300 preschoolers from our community partners—Gilmore Memorial Preschool and Wayne Head Start—joined in for a morning of music, dancing, and fun.
The event featured performances by PCTVS Cheer, Vocal Technique, Instrumental Music, special musical guest Yosi, and surprise visits from Spike and Princess! 🐾✨
A big thank you to our FEA students and partners for helping create such a magical day for our youngest learners.






US II History students visited the Passaic County Vietnam Memorial by the Passaic County Fire Academy. Students were guided through small group tours led by Vietnam Veterans, who shared powerful personal stories and insights.
This was the first event of its kind at the Memorial — a moving experience that brought history to life in a deeply meaningful way.

Congratulations to Michele Welson of the PCTI Computer Science Department for winning the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship! Michele will receive $40,000 towards her education and has also secured an internship at Amazon. This is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly proud of her hard work and dedication. Way to go, Michele!


Congratulations to Bruno Recupero!
A standout junior in PCTI's School of Automotive Technology, Bruno recently completed Subaru-U training—a program that partners with accredited schools to prepare future technicians.
Thanks to his dedication and strong performance, Bruno has secured a senior-year co-op position at Wayne Subaru, where he’ll gain hands-on experience in the field.



Congratulations April Athlete of the Month, Jazriel Miranda!
Jazriel, a senior in the PCTI School of Cosmetology & Barbering, is a standout captain on the flag football team, where she leads the team as quarterback. In addition to flag football, Jazriel is a dedicated Bulldog athlete, also participating in both competition cheer and fall cheer.
This season, Jazriel is excited and inspired by the talent and energy her teammates bring to the field: “I see our season going very well this year, we have a lot of talent this year and all the girls that came back from last year they are bring all their energy in the field and they all put a lot of effort in to make it to the end.” Her favorite memory from the team comes from last year’s game against Eastside, where she made a big run and scored a touchdown during senior night, a highlight that left a lasting impact.
Outside of sports, Jazriel enjoys spending time with friends, playing football casually, and continuing her cheerleading passions.
She shares a message to her teammates: “Shoutout to all my receivers, I love you guys, you guys are amazing, and thank you for making my bad balls into good balls.”

Congratulations April Athlete of the Month, Evan Reyes!
Evan, a senior in the PCTI Academy of Criminal Justice, is captain of the varsity lacrosse team, where he plays the position of midfield. So far this season, the team holds a strong 2–1 record, including two shutouts. For Evan, the most memorable moment this season was celebrating their first win together as a team, a milestone that set the tone for the season.
Outside of lacrosse, Evan enjoys spending time with friends and heading to the field to play casually with his teammates, a reflection of his love for the sport both in and out of competition.
Evan shares his gratitude for his coaches, “Shoutout coach Kurzum, coach Lawshe, and coach Alter for pushing me to be the best athlete I can be, always.”

The Girls Golf team won the Big North Conference Cup at Valley Brook Golf Course on April 24th. This is the first time the team has won the event, which is based on an adjusted score, rewarding the team who plays the best on the day of the tournament relative to their season long average. Sofia Myka Pangan individually led the bulldogs, shooting a 72 and finishing in 2nd place, 1 shot behind the overall winner. Sophia Volpe, Dailisa Robles-Hernandez and Morgan Lee had career low rounds to help get the win for the team.
